Mid-June will see a special celebration hosted at a Mansfield historic site, and the general public is welcome to stop by and join in the fun.
The Richland Early American Center for History has plans in the works for its annual Colonial Days activity, and it will offer a glimpse into the area's past. It will cover the 18th and 19th Centuries, and a variety of costumed re-enactors will be on site to help build the atmosphere of the occasion.
The festivities, which can be enjoyed by the whole family, will include demonstrations of a variety of trades and crafts that were in practice in the 1700s and 1800s, with some of these still being used today. A blacksmith will be showing how he performs his work, and there will be fun for the kids as well. A food truck has been booked for the occasion, and everyone will be able to purchase a snack or even a full meal on site.
One of the ways event organizers can build a historic atmosphere is by utilizing decor that fits into the time period they are recreating. A poster printing company will be happy to help, providing items that fit in well with the theme of an activity.
The Richland Early American Center for History has planned this activity for June 11. The venue will be open from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm.
