Anyone who has a silver spoon, or even an entire set, that they don't use at their table can be part of a class that will teach them how they can repurpose these items into a piece of unique jewelry.
The class, which is being offered by the Mansfield Arts Center, will teach members of the public how they can transform a silver spoon into a ring. Both sterling silver and silver plate can be used, and the class will be teaching basic metalsmithing techniques.
The instructors will guide the class through the process of cutting their piece of cutlery and then they will file, sand, hammer, and bend the piece into a ring shape before polishing it to a high sheen. The organizers explained that steel and stainless steel will not work for this type of project, and they will have a few silver spoons and forks on hand for anyone who needs to purchase one on the day of the event.
This class, which is open to anyone age 18 and over, will run from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Flyers can be a budget friendly way to promote an event like this, and these can be sourced from a flyer printing company in the local area.
