Mansfield class creates wearable works of art

Wet felting is a crafting technique that may be used to create a variety of projects, and a class coming up in Mansfield will teach the basics of creating these wearable works of art.

A workshop introducing the practice will be taking place at Alpaca Meadows, and it is intended for those with little to no experience. It will use simple tools, and most of the items needed will be provided.

The facilitator will teach how to use warm water, felt, soap, and a bit of hard work to create pretty flowers that, when dried, can be used to embellish clothing, as jewelry, or as part of home decor. To further personalize each project, there will be beads and other accessories provided. The registration fee is $45 per person, and everyone is asked to bring a pair of scissors and a towel.

Picking up a new crafting technique as part of a group can be a lot of fun. Flyers can be a cost effective way to market an event to local households, and can be ordered from area flyer printing companies.

This introduction to the art of wet felting will be run next Saturday, June 28, starting at 1:00 pm. A registration link as well as a wet felting tutorial for beginners are both available on the Alpaca Meadows website.
