The Monsterfield Masquerade is taking place in Mansfield at the end of this month. It is hosted by Downtown Mansfield Inc.
This is the second part of the Halloween celebrations, with a city-wide Trick or Treat starting things off on October 26.
The main event of the Masquerade, however, will be the Halloween parade set to begin at 12:00 noon. It will start at Main and Fifth, travel south on Main Street, west on Park Avenue, and north on Walnut. The parade entries will be reviewed, judged, and prizes will be awarded. Organizers are still taking applications for local businesses and other organizations that wish to participate in the parade; the entry fee is $25.
Participants can be marching bands, dance groups, political organizations, community groups, or local businesses promoting their products. Marchers are not allowed to throw candy along the parade route or hand out promotional items.
Over 60 downtown businesses will be participating in Downtown Trick or Treat. Children will be able to make their way to all of these businesses to receive a treat.
No doubt many of the parade participants will be investing in Banners to hand from their floats, perhaps obtained from Mansfield Print companies.
The Monsterfield Masquerade will be held on October 28 beginning at 10:00 am. For the most current information, or to register for the parade, call 419-522-0099.
