Dance extravaganza to benefit local news anchor

Brigitte Coles, news anchor for WMFD TV, has spent many hours helping those in need. The Mansfield native has never expected anything in return, but now those who know her are rallying to help her fight her biggest battle.

Diagnosed with Spindle Cell Sarcoma, Coles has undergone radiation and will now need surgery. In an effort to thank her for all she does for others, the Richland Newhope Industries’ Women’s Empowerment Group along with Tog Loft and the Friends of Brigitte Coles will hold a Dance Extravaganza and Spaghetti Luncheon to benefit Coles and help raise money towards her medical expenses.

Flyer printing and digital copying are some ways that the agencies supporting this fundraiser can reach out to the community with information on the event.
Cole first crossed paths with the Richland Newhope Industries Inc. in 2014 when she volunteered as a speaker at their first Women’s Empowerment group meeting. The mentoring took place over a thirteen week period where she mentored six of Newhope’s clients. Since then, she has continued contact with the organization.

Although the attention is now on her, Cole continues to turn it around as an opportunity to help spread awareness in hopes of being able to help other cancer patients going through what she is going through. She is anxious to get back to work and make help make a difference.

Cole thanks al the organizers of the event, the R&I Dance Troupe and the community. The event will be held on Saturday, January 28th at the Grotto Hall, 747 S. Main St from 2:00 to 5:00pm.
