Butterflies and other pollinators help a garden come to life, and a Mansfield workshop will offer tips for inviting them to the home landscape.

Kingswood Center Gardens is making plans to host a learning opportunity for those who are interested in making their garden more butterfly-friendly. It will follow a lecture-style format, and one of the facility’s subject matter experts will be sharing their knowledge.

The learners will be guided through a variety of planting styles and garden designs that tend to attract pollinators, and plant choice will be included in the discussion. They will discover why both nectar heavy flowers and foliage are important, as they support all stages of an insect’s life cycle. To help them get started in their own beds, the participants will each receive three different host plants they can then install on their property, and both members and non-members are welcome to register.

A workshop like this often packs a lot of information into a small amount of time. Offering each attendee Booklets that supply them with even more details will make it easier for them to keep on learning, these can be provided by a local brochure printing company.

Kingswood Center Gardens has included this activity in its schedule for April 29. Registration for the session is now open, and tickets for the function start at $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
