Stephanie Trzaska is the organizer of the Women’s Circle & Reiki-Infused Southbath: Your Light. Using sound as an aid to meditation has a long history and is recognized as a way to inspire calm and self-reflection. The event is a Women’s Circle, because having a group of women gather provides a safe space in which they can be themselves and make meaning full connections, without any male influence.
Women’s Circles are ancient, and use ceremony and ritual as part of the event. Discussion within the group is guided and facilitated so that participants feel comfortable sharing their thoughts. There will also be a chance for women to lie back and listen to music, or receive messages from others in support of their efforts.
At the event, participants will have a chance to reflect on their attitudes, enjoy a group discussion, and enter into a visualization exercise and a guided meditation along with a reiki-infused soundbath. Women will be encouraged to connect with one another and share the strength they develop when they are together. One participant says that something extraordinary happens in such a circle:
“You can come with something very heavy and pour it into the circle to a safe space of understanding.”
