Work has begun on the Master Facilities Plan of the South Euclid-Lyndhurst Board of Education.
Some of this work includes upgrades and improvements to the Brush High School building which is close to 100 years old. In addition, the Performing Arts Center will be upgraded, the Southlyn building will be renovated for use as a preschool, and work will be done at all other buildings in the district.
The work of the plan will be carried out in four phases over the next five to seven years with each phase consisting of two parts.
During the first part of the first phase, the HVAC controls and equipment at the upper floor of the B wing at Brush will be replaced and masonry water penetration issues will be addressed at the south facing exterior wall of the A wing.
The second part of the first phase will include the replacement of roofs at Memorial Junior High School in Lyndhurst and at Rowland Elementary School in South Euclid. The roof of the gym will be replaced at Memorial as it has been leaking. Work will also include improvements to the HVAC systems at the lower B wing and third floor of Brush. The work of both parts is expected to be completed this spring.
