A late October event in Lyndhurst has everything going for it—art, nature, and live owls.
Arts and Owls is a collaboration between the Cleveland Metroparks system and The Drawing Board Arts (TDBA), who are teaming up to host an event with naturalist Marty Calabrese. Attendees will not only be able to learn about owls, but they will also have live models to sketch.
Attendees at this event will be able to see a live raptor in person, and learn about the part they play in the local ecosystem, all while they draw the bird in real time. People who simply want to learn about owls but are not interested in drawing from scratch are also welcome. Alexis, a TDBA artist, has created owl pages people can color. No experience in art is necessary; participants can simply chill out and enjoy the fun.
TDBA will supply pencils and paper, but people who have their own materials for sketching should feel free to bring them.
Arts and Owls will take place Sunday, October 29 at The Drawing Board Arts, located at 5660 Mayfield Road in the Greens of Lyndhurst. The event is currently full, but anyone interested is urged to keep an eye out for cancellations. There is no attendance free, though donations are appreciated. Organizers of events like this could work with flyer printing to create informative handouts about the subject.
