Mother’s Day will be extra special in Lyndhurst this year, thanks to a creative event.
Carte & Barrel Legacy Village will be the location of the Made with Love Mother's Day Market. People attending the event will have the opportunity to shop at Crate & Barrel, and examine handcrafted items from four vendors especially selected to participate. The four are Barbara Huff of Barbara’s Fiber Arts; April Thompson, chef and business owner; artist Chi-Irena, and artist Sydney Kay. Organizers of this type of event often use flyer printing to create handouts listing the vendors.
Barbara Huff learned the basics of quilting at the Smithsonian Institution, and now makes art quilts, meant to be displayed on a wall, as well as items for personal use.
April Thompson is a personal chef as well as the owner of Bagz Tea. She will be bringing gift Boxes and tea products from her shop, which attendees can sample or purchase. She will also be doing cooking demonstrations (with samples), including a gluten-free option.
Chi-Irena Wong is a 2020 graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art, where she earned her BFA. Cleveland based, she specializes in public installations as well as watercolors.
Sydney Kay is also a Cleveland Institute of Art alum, graduating in 2021 with a BFA in Photography. She has numerous awards to her credit.
The Mother’s Day Market is scheduled for May 10, from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm. Crate & Barrel is located at 24405 Cedar Road, Lyndhurst.
