Lyndhurst will be welcoming the holidays with a beautiful celebration of lights.
The holiday season will pick up speed with the lighting of Candy Cane Lane in Lyndhurst Park. In addition to opening the lane, the evening will also give visitors a chance to write a note to Santa, and mail it in the special North Pole Mailbox. Santa himself will be in the gazebo to talk to visitors, especially those who have been good this year. Hosts in the pavilion will be serving hot chocolate and cookies, and the Lyndhurst Express Train will take passengers on a ride in the parking lot of City Hall.
In past years, the Lane has featured illuminated candy canes, red and white balloons twisted into an arch, and lights strung through the trees. Thousands of people have already expressed interest in the event, and almost 200 have indicated they are planning to attend.
The official lighting event is set for December 6, from 7.00 pm until 9.00 pm, but Candy Cane Lane will be open during the evening throughout the entire holiday season. The opening event, however, is sure to be extra exciting. The park is at 1341 Parkview Drive in Lyndhurst.
In order to publicize events like this, organizers may want to contact a printer who will use flyer printing to create handouts about the event, which then can be distributed in the local area.
