New owner upgrades Lyndhurst nursing facility

The healthcare company that took over a Lyndhurst nursing facility about a year ago has recently upgraded it.

Embassy of Lyndhurst, which was known as the Greens Nursing Facility, was renamed when Embassy Healthcare took over its operation. Embassy invited city officials to see the upgrade, which is a new dialysis unit that opened recently. The unit has eight chairs, and features a bright atmosphere, including a café, to make the space more spa-like and more comfortable for patients.

Andrew Perkins, the administrator of the facility, said the upgrade means in-house dialysis will be available to residents, who would otherwise have to go to a hospital. When changes like these are made, operators can use brochure printing to create pamphlets for those who want additional information.

Embassy of Lyndhurst provides rehabilitation and skilled nursing services. Its companion building, Regent of Lyndhurst, is an assisted living facility. The healthcare installations were built approximately 25 years ago, with room for 140 residents in skilled nursing, and about 60 in assisted living.

Perkins described the facility as a “full-service campus,” where the assisted living facility accepts both Medicaid Waiver and private pay patients, and the skilled nursing area offers therapy, long-term care, dementia care, and now, care for those with renal issues, thanks to the new dialysis facility.

Patrick Ward, the mayor of Lyndhurst, said the original facility was well-built and well-appointed, but such operations only succeed with outstanding management and operational oversight, which he believes are now in place.
