What's Happening in Lyndhurst, OH…

Lyndhurst officials are bringing music to the city in the coming weeks, with two concerts.

The first is a one-hour salute to the 4th of July, played by the Hillcrest Concert Band. The show will take place in Lyndhurst Park, which is behind the Municipal Building, and will go on rain or shine. If the weather is inclement, the performance will move to the Community Center. The concert is free, and so are the ice cream treats that will be supplied. People are welcome to bring a picnic.

The Hillcrest Concert Band was established in South Euclid-Lyndhurst in 1955 and gave its first performance in 1956. It is now recognized as one of the nation’s best adult community bands and plays everything from classics to Broadway show tunes.

The second concert is by the popular Red Light Roxy. Based in Cleveland, this is a professional band that plays a mix of swing, jump blues, jazz standards, boogie-woogie, and a bit of R&B. This performance too will be in Lyndhurst Park and move to the Community Center if necessary. People may bring picnics, and wine and beer may be consumed in the park. Those who prefer may purchase food from D’Antonelli’s, and free ice cream goodies will be available.

The Hillcrest Concert Band concert is Friday, July 4 at 7.30 pm, and Red Light Roxy appears Wednesday, July 16 at 7.30 pm. When they plan events like this, organizers often use poster printing methods to create advertising.
