Singing the blues in Kettering

Bands who are masters of the blues will appear soon in the Dayton suburb of Kettering.

Lil’ Ed & the Blues Imperials, alongside Noah Wotherspoon, their special guest, will appear at the Hidden Gem Music Club. Lil’ Ed Williams is a songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist who is a master of the blues. The band has a big sound, grounded by Lil’ Ed’s soulful vocals, blues guitar work, and slide guitar expertise, and has been lauded as real Chicago blues. Praise for the band has often focused on the showmanship, infectious energy and high level of skill in their performances.

Lil’ Ed learned the blues from his uncle J.B. Hutto, a songwriter and slide guitar giant. The band’s current lineup comprises Lil’ Ed, along with Kelly Littleton on drums, Mike Garrett on guitar, and James “Pookie” Young, Ed’s half-brother, on bass. The Blues Imperials have been together for almost 30 years, playing thousands of concerts and releasing a total of nine albums.

Noah Wotherspoon will open the show. He is an artist, writer, and musician based in Dayton, famed for his talent as a blues guitarist. He was a finalist in the International Blues Challenge, held in Memphis, Tennessee.

The concert is set for February 2 at 7.00pm. To promote events like this, organizers will often turn to poster printing to create advertisements.
