Multitalented artist to perform in Kettering

An artist who has music, screen, and television credits under her belt will appear in Kettering soon.

Jessica Simpson is a native of Abilene, Texas who began singing in her local church choir. Columbia Records signed her in 1997 when she was 17, and released her debut studio album, “Sweet Kisses,” two years later. It sold well and the single “I Wanna Love You Forever,” was in the top three of the Billboard Hot 100.

She released her second album, “Irresistible,” in 2001, and by then had adopted a more mature image. The title song was in the Top 20 and was certified Gold by the RIAA. Her third album, 2003’s “In This Skin,” was her best-selling album, reaching No. 2 on the US charts and selling almost three million albums worldwide.

Simpson also has film and television credits. She and husband Nick Lachey hosted and starred in “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica,” a reality show that ran on MTV for two years. On the big screen, she played Daisy Duke in the film adaptation of the TV show “The Dukes of Hazzard.”

In addition to music, Simpson has launched her own fashion line, The Jessica Simpson Collection.

Jessica Simpson will be at the Fraze Pavilion in the Dayton suburb of Kettering on Monday, June 22. Performances like this can be advertised with Posters, which organizations will find at local Print shops.
