A party celebrating one of the most successful franchises in film history is coming to a store in Dayton, a few miles from Kettering.
The Star Wars Block Party will be held at the Brick Shop, a LEGO store, to celebrate Star Wars Day. The party is free and includes food trucks, a costume contest, a chance to interact with costumed characters, free builds, and deals on merchandise.
Costumed Star Wars characters will be on hand, courtesy of the Ohio Garrison of the 501st Legion, an international costuming organization that has more than 14,000 members in over 65 countries. They design, build, and wear Star Wars costumes.
Z-93 personality Scott Sharp will be broadcasting live from the Brick Shop from 11.00 am until 1.00 pm, while children 12 and under can enjoy a free build of a Baby Yoda LEGO. Refreshments from Dunkers & Beans, the Gourmet Grub Shack, and other food vendors will be available from 11.00 am until 3.00 pm.
From 12.00 pm until 3.00 pm, fans will have a chance to take photos with characters from the 501st Ohio Garrison, and then take part in a costume contest from 4.00 pm until 5.00 pm. The prizes for the winners are LEGO sets.
Although the “official” Star Wars Day is May 4, the Star Wars Block Party is scheduled for May 2, from 10.00 am until 5.00 pm. Colorful Posters are ideal advertising for events like this and can be found at Print shops.
