A special day is coming up for pets and their people in Kettering, a Dayton suburb.
PetFest 2025 will feature pet games, a DJ, a pet tricks contest, a kids’ corner, a food truck, a pet costume contest, a K-9 police demonstration including tricks and obedience, raffles, vendors, a garage sale, a 5K, and even more.
The 5K timing starts with the packet pickup, from 8.00 am until 8.45 am. Then, both the Wag Walk and the 5K begin at 9.00 am. The 5K is a timed race with the participants making three loops of the course, while those doing the Wag Walk will make one untimed loop. Those taking part in the 5K will be first to line up, while those doing the Wag Walk will get in place behind them. The timing of the race stops at 10.20 am.
After the race, people can enjoy vendors, food vendors, children’s activities, pet-oriented booths, a pet therapy area, a 50-50 raffle, and the Blessing of the Animals. Events of this type can benefit if organizers use banner printing to create course markers.
PetFest 2025 is scheduled for October 11, from 9.00 am until 1.00 pm, at Delco Park. Fees for the race are $30 for the Wag Walk or the 5K through September 30, with a T-shirt guaranteed; $35 for both races from October 1 through October 11, but without a guaranteed T-shirt; and $40 on race day, without a guaranteed T-shirt.
