Kettering celebrates nature

An upcoming event in the Dayton suburb of Kettering will concentrate on how people can help the planet.

EcoFEST 2025 will take place at Lincoln Park Civil Commons & Fraze Pavilion, where attendees will have a chance to view recycled artwork, which will be displayed in conjunction with “Recycled Sculptures,” a project of the Montgomery County Environmental Service and the Rosewood Art Center.

They will also be able to dispose of waste, thanks to the University of Dayton River Stewards, who will be at the event with a mobile waste sorting wagon. The sorting is free.

Organizers will set up a tent so people can “Be Green for Halloween.” Anyone who likes will be able to pick up or exchange gently used costumes for new ones.

Those who are interested in test driving an electric car can do so during the event, and people who get hungry will have a choice of food trucks including Nourishing Souls Juice Bar, Lilia’s Outside Café, and Frios Gourmet Pops. In addition, people are encouraged to bring their own water bottles, which they can refill at the park.

There will be information available in other areas including beekeeping, yoga, pollinators, children’s activities, bicycles, and information about river and wetland conservation, composting and recycling, animal conservation, and gardening.

EcoFEST is set for September 20, from 11.00 am until 3.00 pm. Decorations are fun at events like this, and organizers can create them using banner printing.
