Iconic band to ride the wave to Kettering

A timeless West Coast band is coming to Kettering, and will draw audiences from throughout the Dayton area.

The Beach Boys are on their “Endless Summer Gold” tour, and will be making a stop at the Fraze Pavilion in Kettering. The outdoor venue, which is owned by the city, seats 4,300, and will no doubt be packed for this event.

The Beach Boys formed in 1961 in Hawthorne, California. The original group members were the Wilson brothers (Carl, Dennis, and Brian), cousin Mike Love, and Al Jardine, a friend of the family. They were inspired by R&B groups, 1950s rock, and pop groups that preceded them to create what came to be known as the “California sound.” Their close harmonies, musical ingenuity, and lyrics that appealed to teens made them one of rock’s most influential bands.

Through various lineups, The Beach Boys have been performing for over 60 years, entertaining audiences with the clever musical arrangements and harmonies that earned them a spot in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Founding member Mike Love is still a touring member of the band.

Among the songs audiences can expect to hear are four that made it all the way to No. 1 – “Kokomo,” “Good Vibrations,” “Help Me Rhonda,” and “I Get Around.” The band has sold over 100 million records.

The Beach Boys will be in Kettering on Monday, July 1 at 7.30 pm. When exciting events like this are planned, organizers often use poster printing to create appropriate advertising.
