One of Cincinnati's favorite events, the Taste of Cincinnati, is on the way.
As part of the fun, event organizers have announced their Best of Taste Awards, in which city residents become “secret diners,” and eat at restaurants and food trucks throughout the area. This will be the first time food trucks have been included.
Food truck winners included the Thai Lime Basil Pop from streetpops, which took first place as best dessert. The best entree from a food truck was the Bee Sting Sandwich, found at C’est Cheese, while the best appetizer was Urban Vistro's Borocado Martini.
Traditional restaurants that won included The Melting Pot, which took first place in the entree section with its teriyaki marinated sirloin; and Via Vite, which won best appetizer with its ricotta and veal meatballs. The best dessert from a traditional restaurant was a blueberry and chocolate chip bread pudding from Bella Luna.
A caterers’ corner and food truck alley have been added for the 2016 event.
The Taste of Cincinnati takes place Memorial Day Weekend, May 28-30. It is located from Sentinel to Vine, along Fifth Street, and runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday.
