Scottish band to play Cincinnati

A cleverly named band will be in Cincinnati, with an equally clever performance.

The Red Hot Chilli Pipers are a Scottish rock group that formed in 2002. In 2007, they began their climb to fame when they won “When Will I Be Famous?”, a talent show on the BBC. The band's core is a group of three bagpipers and a snare drummer, who are backed up by a band numbering from five to seven musicians. At their live shows, the group presents Highland dancing as well as vocal performances.

The Chilli Pipers use their bagpipes, drums, keyboards, and guitars to fuse contemporary music with traditional bagpipe tunes, creating what some have dubbed “bagrock.” They often put their own spin on popular music from other groups, covering such tunes as Journey's “Don't Stop Believing,” “Smoke on the Water” by Deep Purple, and the rock anthem to end them all, Queen's “We Will Rock You.”

They have appeared on the radio and on the soundtrack to “How to Train Your Dragon 2.”

A review says:

“Red Hot Chili Pipers was one of the best and thoroughly enjoyable concerts I ever attended! Amazing talent and so entertaining; . . . Great variety of songs. . . . I would definitely pay to see them again!”

The group will appear at the Ludlow Garage on March 4, 2021, with the show scheduled to start at 8:30 pm. Flyer printing is frequently used to publicize events like this.
