Allos Ventures, a venture capital firm located in Cincinnati, has moved its offices.
The company has vacated its premises in the Scripps Center on Walnut Street and relocated to the Deskey Building on Eighth Street in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood.
John McIlwraith, Allos's managing director, says the firm moved for two reasons: one was to get a space of its own, and the second was to be closer to an area housing many startup businesses.
In addition to startups themselves, the location is also near the Brandery, which is a startup accelerator. Cintrifuse, which backs startups, plans to locate its operation nearby as well.
McIlwraith says the move to Over-the-Rhine has always been part of Allos' plan, as the organization has always wanted to be near the entrepreneurs located there.
Allos shares 5,000 square feet of office space with Differential, a software developer, which moved to the Deskey Building from the space Cintrifuse has on Sixth Street. Differential works with Allos, as well as a number of startups, some of which might move in with them some time in the future.
McIlwraith said he was looking for a space with energy and a lot happening. The new offices have big windows, high ceilings, and a great deal of open space. Allos might work with a business card printing company to have new cards made for employees that reflect the correct address.
