Popular movie commentary group headed for Cincinnati

A famous group of characters known for their unique commentary about movies will make a stop in Cincinnati in early November.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 is a series where a man and his robot friends sit down and watch a very cheesy film, chosen by those holding them captive on a satellite. Their humor and wit have entertained viewers since national broadcasting began in 1989. Although the original run ended, Netflix picked up the series in 2017. The original episodes have also been airing as reruns.

The Time Bubble Tour will be an authentic MST3K experience. A crew of people and the classic robots will be making their wisecracks about the movie Making Contact. Some comedy sketches will also be performed. Attendees can expect to see Conor McGiffin, Emily Marsh, Yvonne Freese, and Nate Begle, alongside GPC, Tom Servo, and Crow.

Ticket holders and their parties are required to provide a negative Covid-19 test, which must be taken no more than 72 hours before the show, or provide proof of being fully vaccinated. Tickets range from $28.50 to $38.50 for general admission.

VIP packages are $125 or $199. The pricier pack gets a meet and greet/photo op with Emily, Tom Servo, Gypsy, and Crow T. Robot, a reserved spot in the front 10 rows, early entry, a shirt with a special graphic design, a tour collectible, a tote bag, and laminate. The smaller pack gets all the merchandise listed, early entry, and a reserved ticket, but no meet and greet or photo.

Doors will open at 6:30pm, with the show beginning at 7:30pm. The date is set to be November 4th, with the venue being Taft Theatre.
