Pop/rock outfit to play Cincinnati

A popular British band has rescheduled its Cincinnati appearance.

BBMak comprises Stephen McNally, Christian Burns, and Mark Barry, who got together in 1997 in Newcastle Upon Tyne. They derived their name from the first letters of their first names.

The group has an interesting history. After formation, they released “Back Here,” a single that got favorable notice, gaining popularity thanks to receiving airplay in Asia. Hollywood Records signed them, and in 2000, they released a reworked version of their debut album, “Sooner or Later,” tailored for a release in the United States. The album climbed to No. 38 on the Billboard 200 chart, and “Back Here” hit the Top 20. The success of this release helped them break into the U.K.

Their second album, “Into Your Head,” also did well, charting at No. 25 on the Billboard Albums chart. Between 1999 and 2003, BBMak sold more than three million albums throughout the world, but broke up in 2003. They reunited in 2018 and dropped “Powerstation,” their third album, in 2019.

BBMak is known for the guitar-powered melodies and close harmony, and they have been compared to The Beatles. A review says:

“BBMak IS back here and better than they ever were.”

The show was scheduled for April 10, but is now set for July 10 at the Ludlow Garage. Tickets for the earlier date will be honored. Venues that scheduled events like this will often work with poster printing to create advertising for them.
