Legendary band to play Cincinnati
A band that has been rocking audiences for almost 50 years is set to visit Cincinnati.
Chicago first formed in 1967 and took their name from the transportation system in their hometown: the Chicago Transit Authority. Within two years, they shortened the name simply to Chicago, and started their climb to the top.
Their rise was aided by the sheer size of the outfit, which, unusually for a rock band, included a horn section. The composition of the group enabled the musicians to blend several genres, including R&B, classical music, and jazz into something that made them stand out from others. They found a welcome on FM radio, which still plays their hits including “You’re the Inspiration” and “Baby What a Big Surprise.”
Four members of the original band – James Pankow, Walter Parazaider, Lee Loughnane, and Robert Lamm – are still part of the group, which has continued to thrive through numerous line-up changes. They have won a number of awards including five Grammys.
A review of a live performance says:
Chicago will be at the Riverbend Music Center on August 1 at 6:30 pm. Poster printing can be used to create colorful, edgy advertising for events like this.

“Fantastic concert! These guys sound great, look great and put on a high energy show, as good or even better than the Chicago I had seen in the 70's. . . . Just a great show. One of my favorite concerts ever!”
