One of the best-known brands in the dairy industry is coming back to Ohio, with plans to build plants in both Cleveland and Cincinnati.
Borden Dairy once had its headquarters in Columbus, but left Ohio in 1995, after the company changed hands. However, Borden products began to appear in schools in Ohio during the past year, after 24 years away from of the local marketplace.
The products are also available at retailers throughout Ohio, who are currently stocking the brand's classic white milk, as well as other flavored drinks. Additional Borden products will be coming to the market later in the year. Promotional Products are often used to create brand recognition in situations like this.
Tony Sarsam is Borden's CEO, and said he is delighted to return to Ohio, which played an important part in the history of the company. He is also happy with the support the company is receiving from residents, and says Borden is eager to win Ohio residents back to the brand with its products.
The two new Borden plants will have about 350 employees based in Ohio. Borden products are currently being sold at hundreds of independent gas stations and convenience stores, as well as chain stores like Pilot, True North, Seven Eleven, Menards, Big Lots, CVS, Walgreens, Circle K, Apples, Simon's Grocery, Hometown Markets, Dave's Markets, and Marc's.
