A new kitchen has been added to Listermann Brewing Company—sort of. Renegade Street Eats, a food truck, began cooking and serving its food inside Listermann the week of May 27, 2017. Renegade has been parking outside and serving wings at the brewery on Thursdays. Now that it's moved into the brewery, Renegade will still serve its burgers and char-grilled wings, but it also has an opportunity to expand its menu. Renegade will be serving its food at the brewery Wednesday through Saturday.
Kris Buening owns and operates the food truck, and says working in Listermann is both scary and exciting. It will allow her to expand her menu and her business, especially as access to the brewery's kitchen means she can do more than she's able to accomplish using the truck's kitchen.
One of the things she's happiest about is that there are two deep fryers in the kitchen at Listermann, whereas she has only one on the truck. She has had to keep that single fryer reserved for their signature wings, but the second deep fryer means she can make homemade fries—which she fries twice to make them extra-crispy. She wants the fries to be able to hold the various toppings she plans to load on.
Although Renegade is serving its food now, there's a party to officially kick off the new venture on June 24, 2017.
