Trippin’ Billies are a tribute group for The Dave Matthews Band (DMB), a gig they have been playing for almost 20 years. The outfit is based in Chicago, and has toured extensively, performing at many of the same venues where Dave Matthews played. The band took its name from a song that appeared on the DMB album “Remember Two Things.”
The Trippin’ Billies comprise some of Chicago’s best musicians, according to radio station WXRT, and their talent is such that people can enjoy their show without being diehard Dave Matthews fans. However, for those who are DMB fans, the experience is almost as good as watching the original group.
The Trippin’ Billies began as an acoustic duo playing small clubs on Chicago’s North Side. Their popularity began to grow, and they began appearing in larger venues, until they were regularly selling out mid-sized clubs. Today they are playing in full-sized concert settings. A review says:
“Really great show and an awesome tribute to Dave Matthews. Band brought a ton of energy and nearly as good as DMB.”
The Trippin’ Billies will be at the Ludlow Garage on November 2. When organizers schedule performances like this, they often choose to work with a Print company that can use poster printing to create suitable advertising.
