Two new films are being shot in the Greater Cincinnati area, and preparations for the work have already begun.
James Franco is involved in both films, which will be shot in and around the city. The first, ‘Goat’, should start filming soon. The film stars Franco and Nick Jonas, and Jonas was apparently spotted in the area. Goat will be filmed entirely in Cincinnati and the area, though no specific locations have been mentioned. The film commission did confirm that costume fittings, rehearsals, and other preparatory work are now underway.
Film buffs may have a chance to get in on the action, since the film commission says it needs two cars for the shoot. The first is a Crown Victoria, Ford's go-to police car for decades. The film people need a late 1990s or early 2000s automobile, preferably the standard police model, but without any fancy hubcaps, and without the black and white paint.
The second car on the wish list is a late 1990s or early 2000s Subaru Legacy, Forester, or Outback. They would like this vehicle to be silver or white. Both cars should be air conditioned.
Franco is also involved in another film to be shot in the area, with some scenes taking place in Hamilton and Cincinnati. The movie is ‘The Long Road Home’, and Franco is directing.
City officials might consider working with a banner printing company on a “welcome” banner for the filmmakers.
