A historic social gathering sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce is set to return, but with a new look and a new name.
For over 25 years, Cincinnati residents enjoyed a weekly event known as ‘Party in the Park’, held at Yeatman's Cove along the Serpentine Wall.
Party in the Park placed its focus on music and drinks, and sometimes went late into the evening, despite the fact it was held on Wednesdays. The new events, which are going by the name ‘5:13’, which is the approximate starting time, will be much shorter, ending at around 8:30 pm.
The focus will be on cocktails, craft beers, and food from trucks, plus offerings from local merchants and vendors. Planners of 5:13 also have theme nights, bourbon and wine tastings, games, and live music with popular DJs on the agenda.
The new weekly events are aimed at groups of young professionals, who were asked by the Chamber what sort of event they would like. They said they did not want to party on a weekday, but would prefer to just hang out. They wanted something that was “uniquely Cincinnati,” where everyone felt welcome and could have a good time.
The 5:13 events begin May 4 and run through August 17. Organizers might like to create Banners to hang at the venue to celebrate the fun of this summer gathering.
