Blues rocker to come to Cincinnati

An award-winning musician loved by fans and musicians alike is set to perform in Cincinnati.

Mike Farris founded and sang lead for the Screamin’ Cheetah Wheelies starting in 1990. They were frequently found on the rock charts during that decade, but despite their success, Farris went solo early in the 2000s. He has six studio albums and one live album to his credit.

His music, though diverse, is rooted mostly in blues and early American gospel tunes. In 2018, he released the “Silver & Stone” album, which featured accomplished musicians including Derrek Phillips and Joe Bonamassa.

Farris seems to enjoy collaborating with others, both onstage and in the studio. He was a featured performer on Patty Griffin’s album “Downtown Church,” which won a Grammy, and appeared with her on the popular TV show “Austin City Limits.” He also appeared on the “Austin City Limits Hall of Fame,” a live show, along with Double Trouble and Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

In addition to his live performances and recording history, Farris is a multi-award winner, winning the Americana Award in 2008, the GMA Dove Award in 2010, and a Grammy in 2014. Rolling Stone Country describes Farris as:

“. . . a supersized voice filled with the electricity of Saturday night and the godly grace of Sunday mornings.”

Mike Farris will be at the Ludlow Garage on Sunday, March 16, at 7:30 pm. Organizers of this kind of show may use advertisements developed using poster printing.
