Outdoor concerts are a hallmark of summer in Centerville, and several are happening next month.
The Centerville Arts Commission and the City of Centerville have teamed up with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital to host 15 concerts during the summer months. The concerts, which start at 7:00 pm, are always accompanied by concessions and food trucks, plus an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter.
All the performers this year have been tribute bands, giving fans a chance to hear tunes they’ve loved for years. The three August concerts will honor Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Beatles, and Chicago.
Creedence Revived has toured around the world, playing for crowds of more than 30,000 people. The four-member band comprises professional musicians from both Los Angeles and Chicago who have many recordings and solo performances under their belt.
Beatlemania Magic recreates the concerts the Beatles gave in the early days, right down to the costumes, signature hairstyles, and instruments. They also bring back Sgt. Pepper’s “Magical Mystery Tour,” and the group’s appearance on “The Ed Sullivan Show.”
The Brass Tacks Band adopts a characteristic of many legendary bands—horns. Brass Tacks was formed in Cincinnati and concentrates mostly on the music of Chicago, but also plays the hits from the 1960s to 1980s, concentrating on the horn bands.
Creedence Revived appears August 6, Beatlemania Magic is scheduled for August 13, and The Brass Tacks Band winds up the series on August 27. The venue is Stubbs Park, where organizers of events like this can use brochure printing to create concert programs.
