Locals to run through haunted territory

The YMCA of Greater Dayton will host the Haunted Heights 5K this month in Huber Heights. Attendees from across the neighboring community of Centerville are expected to participate.

The run will be a costume themed 5K. Registrants signing up for the race by October 22 will receive a finisher’s medal along with a commemorative T-shirt. Awards will also go to the top runners in adult, group, and youth. Runners who sign up for both this race and the Autumn Open 5K will receive a discount of $5 off of each race.

Banners are used at races to help guide participants in the right direction. Banner printing is typically created using brightly colored with large fonts, and can include logos and sponsor recognition.

The YMCA of Greater Dayton services the regional communities by providing programs that focus on health and wellness, as well as exercise. It also offers family activities, day care and youth camps.

The Haunted Heights 5K is open to all ages, members and non-members. Registration is required, and will open at 7:00 am. The race will take place on Saturday, October 30 beginning at 7:30 am. The starting point is 7251 Shull Rd, and the entry fee is $30.
