The inaugural Shamrock Shuffle 5K will kick off near Centerville in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. The 5K will take place in the historical Downtown Melbourne area.
Participants will begin the race at Troy Memorial Stadium, 151 W. Staunton St in Troy and will end downtown with a free beer for racers 21 years of age and older.
Registrants will receive T-Shirts and finisher medals, and all participants are encouraged to wear their favorite Irish outfit. Meg O’Malley’s will present a range of food along with beverages. A Pot of Gold challenge will be part of the fun.
A St. Patrick’s Day festival will follow the event. Vendors are encouraged to work with local Print shops to prepare for participation in festivals. Banner printing is an important facet for promoting goods and services at this sort of event.
Pre-race registration is $25. Race day registration will be $35 and will not include a T-shirt. Children six and younger are free, while registration is $20 for those between seven and twelve. Prizes will be awarded in each division for the top three, and the top three female and male runners will be rewarded too.
The 5K Shamrock Shuffle 5K will take place Saturday, March 20, beginning at 8:30 am. Early packet pickup will be available on the Friday before from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. The event website has complete details and registration links.
