Dayton, just a short distance from Centerville, recently kicked off the First Friday which takes place in the downtown area. It is held at various locations throughout the area.
Each month a new feature is offered. The events are held each month April through December. Art hops are popular and are comprised of exhibits shown in the galleries downtown. Street performances, art demonstrations, dining, entertainment, and shopping fill the day. Other times the shopping district purveyors will offer special activities and deals.
Local restaurants, nightclubs, theaters, bars, movie theaters, and comedy clubs generally participate in First Friday with special food, discounts, performances and other fun activities.
Posters are ideal for specialized events for communicating features, sales, discounts, and upcoming schedules. The poster printing can include vibrant colors, interesting facts, logos, and content. They can also feature sponsors.
The Downtown Dayton Partnership along with the AES Ohio present the First Friday series. Rev. Cool’s “Around the Fringe” show with WYSO-FM 91.3 radio station and Ohio Arts Council provides support, as well.
Th event organizers are looking for performers for the First Friday events. Artists are needed to provide entertainment roving along the downtown streets. Anyone interested in more information can contact Jami Pack at 937-224-1518, extension 227.
