Change of venue for Centerville summer concerts

One of the joys of summer is enjoying music outdoors, and Centerville plans to do just that.

The Centerville Arts Commission and the City of Centerville have announced the upcoming schedule for the 2024 Summer Concert Series and Party at the Park. The concerts are usually held at Stubbs Park, but it is undergoing renovations, so the performances will move temporarily to the St. Leonard campus at 8100 Clyo Road.

The Party in the Park evenings start at 5.30 pm, with The Heart of Centerville members present. This is an alliance of more than 130 professional, philharmonic, entertainment, and retail providers working together to grow Centerville. The vendor village will also be on site with over 30 vendors, and activities for youngsters. The concerts start at 7.00 pm.

The first artist scheduled this year is Twist on Taylor, an ensemble dedicated to bringing fans an enchanting and authentic Taylor Swift experience. The group is based in Southern California and performs hits from both Swift’s pop and country Catalogs. Songs may include “Blank Space,” and “Love Story.”

Next up will be a local favorite, Simply Queen, who will bring back the glory days of Queen and their legendary frontman Freddie Mercury, played here by Canadian songwriter Rick Rock, who has been performing for more than 40 years.

Twist on Taylor is Sunday, June 9, followed by Simply Queen on Friday, June 14. Organizers of events like this will often use poster printing to create striking advertisements for them.
