Centerville honors the Red, White and Blue

The annual Americana Festival will take place in Centerville this summer with an anticipated crowd of over 80,000.

The Centerville-Washington Township Americana Festival launched in 1972. It started as a sidewalk sale hosted by the downtown merchants, and has since grown to be one of the largest events in the region, successful through the efforts of over 100 volunteers.

The first night of the festival will kick-off with a VFW Flag ceremony followed by a concert. The Centerville Community Band and Chorus will perform music in the spirit of freedom celebrating our founding.

Following the performance, the Americana Fireworks show will light up the skies. The related entertainment will begin at 8:30 pm with the fireworks taking place at 10:00 pm to synchronized music provided by 92.9 Jack FM.

Festival organizers often work with local Print shops to prepare communication needed to ensure a smooth flow of foot traffic at outdoor events. Banner printing is used to create large signage that can be hung high for quick visibility, or on sides of structures.

A 5K run and a parade will be part of the second day’s festival fun. An antique and classic car show takes place midday near Benham’s Grove.

The Americana Festival will take place on July 3 and 4 in Centerville with various points of activities.
