Centerville celebrates local veterans

Veterans will be honored and celebrated in respectful style next month, as the City of Centerville and Centerville Veterans of Foreign wars will present an event to salute the people who play an important role in maintaining the freedom of the United States.

The celebration will begin with a color guard presentation for the Centerville VFW Post 550 along with the local police and Washington Township Fire Departments’ honor guard teams will perform.

Mayor Brooks Compton will speak followed by a designated keynote speaker. The Cub Scout Pack 248 will be on the agenda to present. Musical entertainment is also part of the day’s activities.

Frequently organizers of events of this type need the services of local Print shops to prepare for the day. Banner printing creates valuable and highly visible signage that can be placed in areas to attract immediate attention. The Banners can assist with parking areas, concessions, restrooms, and special activities.

The Centerville Veterans Day Ceremony will take place on November 11 at the Veterans Memorial Stubbs Park located at 255 West Spring Valley Road. The first activity will begin at 11:00 am. Alternate plans are in place in case of inclement weather with the ceremony moving into the nearby police department.

There is no charge to attend. For more information, visit the event website or call (937) 428-4782.
