All-American celebration in Centerville

Centerville is planning the latest installment in a series of festivals that has been going on for 50 years.

The two-day Americana Festival features fireworks, a parade, an auto show, live entertainment on three stages, an Arts & Crafts Street Fair, a 5K run, and a variety of vendors.

The festival kicks off at the Centerville High School Stadium, where people will find various food vendors. Once inside, they will enjoy a fantastic fireworks display, with the fireworks synchronized to music from Jack FM 92.9.

This is also the day people can enjoy the Americana Concert, held in Stubbs Park following the Flag Ceremony, which takes place at 7:00 pm. The Centerville Community Band and Chorus will perform.

The following day begins with the Centerville Noon Optimist Club once again the host of the Up and Running, Americana 5K Run/Walk. The race will be chip timed, and will begin at 7:30 am. Participants must to there by 7:00 am.

After that will be the parade, which starts at 10:00 am on East Franklin Street. From there, it will head west to Cline Elementary School. Over 120 units will take part.

The Auto Show is also set for the festival’s second day, as is the Street Fair, where people will find more than 300 vendors, including food trucks. Organizers can enhance events like this by using flyer printing to create schedules for attendees.

The fireworks and concert are set for July 3, with the 5K, parade, and other events on July 4.
