Half-day retreat promotes health for Amherst residents

A community gathering in Amherst is being organized for this November to bring women together in an effort to reset their nervous systems ahead of the holiday rush.

The Nervous System Harmony Half-Day Retreat has opened online registration to women in the Amherst area who are looking for an opportunity to tap into their happier side ahead of the stress that often comes with the holiday season. Leann Rafton, an experienced meditation and yoga practitioner, will lead the retreat that is largely built around somatic breathwork.

No experience is necessary to participate, and all fitness and experience levels are welcome. The somatic breathwork portion of the experience is designed to help participants form a deeper connection with their body. A light lunch will follow the breathwork segment, before Dr. Sam Bahan leads the group through neuro-emotional bodywork. Promotional efforts can use flyer printing to connect with previous attendees and other interested parties in the community through Mailing campaigns.

The experience will end with a sauna and guided cold plunge, which is optional, but that requires a bathing suit and towel. Water, a pillow, and a journal are encouraged to enhance the retreat’s benefits.

Attendees will meet at 45555 North Ridge Road in Amherst at 10:00 am on Sunday, November 15, with the retreat ending at 3:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased online for $162 per person.
