Two fundraisers have been scheduled for Amherst in mid-May.
First up is the 2nd Annual Carter's Wings, which will be a wing sauce competition. Those wishing to enter the contest will be charged $10 per entry and will be required to bring at least half a gallon of sauce between Wednesday, May 13 and noon on Saturday, May 16.
Tickets will be $10 and will include one wing from each batch of sauce, access to the food buffet, and any wings left after the judging ends. Other fundraising features include games, a 50/50 drawing, and raffles. Local businesses that donate to raffles at fundraisers like this often include Business Cards in with the donated items.
This event will take place on Saturday, May 16 beginning at 3:00 pm at 518 W Main Street South Amherst.
The following Wednesday, the annual Lauren Brian Education Foundation Fundraiser will be raising money for its scholarship account. The account has been set up to award $1,000 scholarships to local females getting college degrees in the field of education. Highlights will include recognition of current recipients and information about the impact and mission of the fund.
The Lauren Brian Education Foundation Fundraiser will take place on Wednesday, May 20 beginning at 1:00 pm at The Mermaid's Tale, 201 Church Street. The event is open to the public, with the listing inviting people to come along.
