Many chili enthusiasts, both cooks and connoisseurs, will heading for the annual VFW 1662 Chili Cook off in January, while businesspeople will be attending a speed networking session in mid-February.
Contestants in the chili off will be bringing the heat with steak, seafood, chicken, or veggie entries. Everyone is invited to sample and vote for their favorites. Admission for the sampling will be $5, and awards will go to the best three recipes.
The chili cookoff will take place next Saturday, January 17 beginning at 4:00 pm at 165 Cleveland Avenue.
For local businesspeople who want their networking to take a break from the traditional, the Speed Networking experience should be an interesting occasion. The event will be an opportunity to meet new people, reconnect with old, valued customers, and make contact with potential clients in a speed dating kind of environment.
Breakfast and registration will begin at 8:30 am and that will be followed by speed networking from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Pastries and coffee will be provided, and admission will be $20.
Speed Networking will take place on Thursday, February 12 at Main Street Amherst, 255 Park Avenue.
Attendees who plan to go to networking events like this often have local Print shops create new Business Cards for them, updating any new information beforehand.
