Amherst will be getting two inaugural events- a Summer Harvest Dinner in late July and a Sandstone FBBC Spartan Deka STRONG in late August.
The first-ever Summer Harvest Dinner will be coming to Amherst in mid-July. Pogie's catering is busily working with local businesses and farms to present a 5-course meal using seasonal summer produce. Guests will be dining in the Garden Picnic Pavilion.
The menu will consist of grilled Gazpacho, smoked salmon topped with cucumber and carrot relish and hoisin, crispy smoked pork belly topped with a bourbon glaze, BBQ beef short ribs, vanilla ice cream with grilled peaches topped with local honey. Everyone is to bring their own beverages.
Tickets are $50 and must be purchased before July 10th. The first course will be served at 6:00 pm with doors opening at 5:30 pm.
This inaugural Summer Harvest dinner will take place at 7575 Leavitt Road.
The first ever Sandstone FBBC Spartan Deka STRONG will be taking place at Sandstone Fit Body Boot Camp. This event will test conditioning, strength and mental toughness using 10 no-running functional fitness zones. These zones will include SkiErg, Sled Push, Sled Pull, Row, Farmer's Carry, Burpee Broad Jumps, Box Step Overs, Deadlifts, Wall Balls and Med Ball Sit-Ups.
Sandstone FBBC Spartan Deka STRONG will take place Saturday, August 22nd, beginning at 7:00 am at 175 N. Leavitt.
Organizations that hold inaugural events will often take photos to local Print shops to be added to brochure printing for future events.
