Amherst runners jingle all the way

There's still time for Amherst runners to enter the CCUCC's Jingle All the Way 5k coming on Christmas Eve morning.

Runners may opt to run the 5k or take a leisurely 1-mile walk. This year the routes have been changed, and both races will begin at Marion Steele High School. The 5k will take runners through Beaver Creek Park and the 1k walkers and runners will be going through the local neighborhoods.

The after-race party will be for racers and the community and will include Christmas carols, cookies and hot chocolate.

Although the order for event shirts has already gone to the Print shops to be ready for race day, all participates will receive bells to wear during the race and walk.

Registration for each race is $30 for adults and $10 for kids 18 and under. All fees will go to benefit Blessing House to help make local children in need have a brighter Christmas.

Both races will begin at 9:00 am. Actually, the 5k will begin right at 9:00 am and the 1-mile will begin once the 5k runners have left the starting line.

Race packets will be available December 23rd at CCUCC from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on race day before the races begin.

CCUCC's Jingle All the Way 5k will take place Tuesday, December 24th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at 450 Washington Street.
