Amherst relishes the holidays
A couple of events that will add to Amherst's holiday season will be the annual Jingle Bell Bus and Miracle on Main Street coming in early December.
Main Street Amherst will present Miracle on Main Street with downtown businesses lit in holiday lights and hung with colorful Christmas banners.
Starting at 5:45 pm on Friday, December 6, The Madrigals of Steele High will begin performing at Town Hall. At 6:00 pm, the Christmas parade will step off at Marion L. Steele and continue to Town Hall. Right after the parade, everyone is invited to go to the bandstand where there will be a tree lighting ceremony.
Organizers of local holiday events will no doubt be going to local print shops around now to get their banner printing done in plenty of time for the big opening day.
The Jingle Bell Bus will be a trolley ride through the city to view the holiday lights and sing carols. The one-evening adventure will have the bus leaving at 6:00 pm, 6:45 pm, and 7:30 pm.
Tickets are $5 per person and must be purchased online or at the MSA Community Center before the big day. This can be done Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the MSA Office.
The Jingle Bell Bus will take tours on one night only – Wednesday, December 11 – and will depart from the MSA Community Center, 255 Park Avenue.
