The Amherst Historical Society is set to present The Sandstone Village Fall Festival in late September.
It will be presented in conjunction with the Forest Hill Farmstand, the Sandusky Bay Chapter, and the Archaeological Society of Ohio.
Kids can play games and take part in activities geared for them. A pumpkin patch will have all sizes and shaped pumpkins for purchase, and the venue will offer supplies to paint-your-own-pumpkins. Food vendors will be selling fall favorites, and vendors and crafters will be on site, too.
Vendors and crafters that sell at many fall events such as this often order custom fall Business Cards from local Print shops.
The Hickory Tree Grange will feature an Indian Artifact Display by the Sandusky Bay Chapter, Archaeological Society of Ohio. Among the items on display will be projectile points, atlatls (ancient spear throwing tools), pottery and hafted knives. Some of these will be for sale.
Visitors will also get to visit the venue's 18 regular historic buildings including a blacksmith shop, farrier barn, one room school, octagonal barn, pig barn and St. George Chapel. Other structures of interest will include a milk house, smoke house, Quarrymen's Tool Shed, caboose and a three-seat outhouse.
The Sandstone Village Shops will also be open. Here festival attendees will get the opportunity to find donated treasures at the Pine Tree, White Barn and the Gallery.
The Sandstone Village Fall Festival will be from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Saturday, September 27th at Sandstone Village, 763 Milan Avenue.
