In partnership with Sliman's Dodge Chrysler Jeep, Main Street Amherst is gearing up for its annual Miracle on Main Street coming at the beginning of December.
Between now and then, the downtown business association is getting some banner printing done and holiday lights strewn throughout the downtown area for its extravaganza holiday event that heralds in the Christmas season with the arrival of Santa Claus.
Everyone is invited to come early and enjoy dinner with family and friends at one of the area's eateries. At 5:45 pm Madrigals of Steele High will be begin performing at the Town Hall. The Christmas parade will be lining up at Marion L. Steele and will step off at 6:00 pm. Spectators may look forward to watching the Amherst Marching Comets lead local clubs and groups, and the Marion L. Steele Cheerleaders and sports teams as they march St. Claus up Park Avenue to Town Hall.
All are invited to continue the festivities at the band stand and join with the Madrigals of Steele High in singing Christmas Carols after which Santa will light the tree. many downtown shops and businesses will remain open afterward for guests to get a jump on their Christmas buying.
As in past years, The Main Street building will be decked out for the season and will offer crafts for the kids, vendors selling merchandise and visits with Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
This year's Miracle on Main Street will take place Friday, December 5th in downtown Amherst.
