The 178th Lorain County Fair will be returning to the Amherst area toward the end of August.
A Lorain County Fair Fundraiser, SummerFest At the Grounds on July 19th and 20th will begin the festivities with the Bear Pickins Band on Friday, tractor pull, cornhole tournament BBQ competition, car show, and raffle on Saturday.
The fair will be 8 days of entertainment, vendors, contests, livestock and handmade items entries.
Hay bales will be decorated for the hay bale contest, and 60 stalls will be available for the colt races. The pony pulling, horse, miniature horse and draft horse/draft pony pulling contests will offer thousands of dollars in prize money. The grandstand will have a free tractor pull, a combine derby and a truck derby. A power wheels derby at 1:00 pm and a demolition derby at 4:00 pm will be in the Grandstand Sunday, August 25th. Boys and girls from the ages of 5 to 10 can head over to Pavilion 2 Saturday, August 24th at 1:30 pm to participate in the kiddie pedal pull.
McGinnis Amusement will bring Midway rides.
Ticketed headliners will be Sara Evans on Monday the 19th, and the Marshall Tucker Band on Tuesday the 20th. Free events will be in Pavilions 1 and 2.

The Lorain County Fair will run from August 18th through the 25th at the Lorain Fair Grounds, Wellington.
