Main Street Amherst will be holding its Witches Wednesday in mid-October.
Everyone is invited to don their favorite witch attire and begin their adventure at Captain’s Club. Those who pre-register online will get their assigned numbers for either the best hat or the costume contest from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm, and those who need to register for either contest can still do so from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm at Main Street Amherst.
Everyone may start the evening with pictures at the Selfie Wall. Pictures taken at Halloween events like this often go to nearby Stationery printers to be made into Halloween cards.
Guests will want to leave the Captain’s Club through the back door to experience all the holiday thrills and chills in Spooky Alley, then haunt the taverns, restaurants, and shops until 8:00 pm when they will want to go to 5 Points Tavern for cocktails and contests.
The hat contest will have three winners, with the first-place winner receiving their own basket, the Bling Broom for a year, and the honor of being the judge for next year’s contest. Prizes for the costume contest will be awarded to three winners. Contestants must be at least 21.
After the contests, there will be a 50/50 drawing. Tickets are available for $5 for 6, $10 for 15, or $20 for 30.
Witches Wednesday will be October 18 from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm in Downtown Amherst, with the 5 Point Tavern contests beginning at 8:00 pm. Get a Free Quote for Stationery
