Amherst awaits solar eclipse events

Three options for watching the upcoming total solar eclipse in Amherst will be on offer on April 8th.

RC Rock Dock will be holding a Mid-Day Night Run coinciding with the eclipse. Due to the natural phenomenon, runners are set to run in the dark in the middle of the day. Special events such as this can often be celebrated through the use of Promotional Products that can be handed out to participants. The run will begin at 12:58 pm and end at 2:14 pm, taking place at 7550 S Dewey Rd.

The Crawford Farmstead will be hosting Solar Eclipse Weekend Watch, which will combine camping with a solar eclipse experience.

The farmstead is making its back 2.5 acres available for up to 100 tents. In addition to tents, some items that guests may want to bring will be grills, coolers, blankets and lawn chairs. The guest house will offer non-alcoholic drinks and snacks for purchase. Special solar eclipse glasses will also be available for $5.

The cost to attend this event will be $80 per night, and an additional $25 for pets. Crawford Farmstead is located at 9860 Vermilion Road.

The Solar Eclipse Weekend Watch Event will take place from Saturday, April 6 at 4:00 pm to Monday, April 8, right after the eclipse.

A family-friendly Solar Eclipse Viewing Party & Cookout is being planned by Park Central from 12 to 5pm at the Amherst Eagles, at 1163 Milan Avenue.

Adult tickets will be $15 and kids' tickets $7. Free solar eclipse glasses will be given to the first 100 guests to register.
